Cardiovascular pathology

National Center of Pathology annually performs about 200 cardiovascular biopsies, mainly after heart transplantation.
For the diagnosis of myocarditis CD3 immunohistochemistry is used to highlight T lymphocytes; for diagnosis of amyloidosis we use histochemical methods Congo Red and Saturn, immunostains for A amyloid and transthyretin. For patients after heart transplantation, we use the C4D to highlight the humoral rejection and immunostain for cytomegalovirus detection.
