Nephropathology

Renal biopsies are performed for all nephrology units in Lithuania since 1993. Since 2013, the renal pathology services are also provided for nephrology clinics in Latvia and Kyrgyzstan.

Standard service for native and transplanted kidney biopsies is based formalin-fixed samples, with routine special stains, immunofluorescecnce for IgA, IgG, IgM, C3, C1q, Ig light chains, etc., immunohistochemistry for C4d, and electron microscopy.

The biopsy data published: "Nationwide renal biopsy date in Lithuania 1994-2012".
